Vanessa R. Sasson is a professor of Religious Studies in the Liberal Arts Department of Marianopolis College and a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State. She is the author of a number of academic books and articles. Yasodhara and the Buddha was her first novel; The Gathering: A Story of the First Buddhist Women is its sequel.
